Because we value our customers so much, we have taken great care in presenting these guidelines in a clear and concise manner that isn't cluttered with industry jargon and legalese. We have no hidden rules or "surprise" guidelines. As Express Rental Car is in the communication business as well as the customer service business we want to communicate to our customers information concerning our vehicles, availability, rates, qualifications to rent, options concerning additional coverages, just to name a few. It is also our responsibility to inform each customer of their responsibilities while renting. We do not offer one-way rentals
Driver's Lic All renters and additional renters must present a valid driver's license. Foreign travelers must present a valid International Driver's License along with a home country driver's license.
Additional Drivers Additional drivers are considered additional renters. Additional renters driver's license must be presented at time of rental. No additional renter may be added to a contract over the telephone. Photo copy or fax copy of a driver's license will NOT be accepted. Fee for additional renter is $10.00 per day per additional renter. Additional renters must be 21 years of age with a valid driver's license. Additional renters under the age of 25 must have personal liability and collision coverage that will transfer to the rented vehicle and must pay a $15.00 per day per additional renter charge for underage renter. Coverage must be verified prior to rental.
Age Requirements Renters and additional renters must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license. Underage renters are restricted from renting certain models of vehicles. Underage renters must pay an additional surcharge of $15.00 per/day.
Insurance & Coverage We at Express Rental Car encourage you to contact your insurance carrier and inquire if your personal policy will cover you in a rental vehicle. Make sure you inform your agent the type of vehicle you will be renting and how long you will be renting. It makes a difference.
Know what you need before you arrive. Express Rental Car does not require renters to purchase any additional coverages.
Credit Card Collision Coverage: Many credit card companies offer collision coverage benefits with their card. As in many types of coverage there are limitations. The length of the rental, purpose of the rental and the vehicle being rented would determine your coverage. Again we suggest that you never assume and encourage you to call the 800 number on your credit card to verify your coverage.
Express Rental Car offers for purchase the following Optional Coverages:
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) When purchased the renter has a $500.00 deductible to cover:
1. Body damage to the exterior of the vehicle
2. Tire damage due to road hazards
3. Windshield damage
4. Protection against paying your deductible our-of-pocket
5. Protection against paying loss-of-use on our vehicle
6. Protection against paying for the vehicle's replacement value
CDW does not cover roof damage on any vehicle.
CDW does not cover damage to any vehicle due to insufficient clearance due to height, width, or hauling.
This coverage summary is not a complete description of the coverages, exclusions, conditions and definitions.
Deposit Requirements As well as Debit Card, VISA, Master Card, AMEX, Discover, and Pre-Paid cards only when the renter meets the requirements listed below.
Cash renters deposit amount is $150.00 plus the estimated amount of the rental in all states.
Debit card customers 25 years of age or older are required to have personal liability coverage that transfers to the rental vehicle for some rentals. This coverage must be verified prior to making a reservation. Customers are required to have collision protection on the rented vehicle. Customers may use their personal coverage, have collision coverage added to their personal policy or opt to purchase our collision damage waiver.
Cash renters and Pre-paid renters must be 21 years of age and may be required to have personal liability and collision coverage that transfers to the rental vehicle for some rentals. This coverage must be verified prior to making a reservation. Renter must present a pay stub. Renter must present a current utility bill in the renter's name. Renter must pay the estimated amount of the rental plus and additional $150.00 deposit at the time of rental. This may be paid up front in cash or with a pre-paid card.
Cash renters are restricted from renting certain model vehicles. Contact us if you have any questions.
Credit Card renters 25 years of age may rent presenting their credit card and a valid driver's license. There are no personal insurance coverage requirements however it is advisable that each renter be fully covered for collision and liability.
Credit Card renters between the ages of 21 and 25 are considered an underage renter.
Cancellation Policy Express Rental Car has a 7 day cancellation policy. After 7 days one day of the rental charge will be charged to your credit card. We ask that you contact us to cancel as soon as possible.
If you do not arrive at the scheduled pickup time your reservation status will be changed to NO SHOW. Please make sure you contact us if the time of pickup needs to be changed.
We will not hold your reservation.
Express Rental Car does not require pre-payment for a reservation. The estimated amount of the rental plus a deposit will be required at time of rental. Please refer to our Deposit Requirements.
Renters Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Renters are responsible for all damages to the rental vehicle and any third party claims for liability while under a vehicle rental contract.
Renters are responsible for returning the vehicle at the designated date and time shown on the rental agreement. It is the responsibility of the renter to contact Express Rental Car to extend a contract and to pay additional deposits needed to extend the contract.
It is the renter's responsibility to understand what they are initialing on the rental contract. Our customer service agents are trained to explain each line item to their customer prior to having the customer initial the contract.
Credit and Debit Card Use The renter must present a credit card or debit card in their name with the appropriate available funds on the card. This also applies to spouses. This policy is in place to protect the credit card or debit card holder. See Deposit Requirements for additional information.
Our Rates and How We Charge Express Rental Car rates may vary day to day. Our rates are determined by supply, demand and market conditions. Rates quoted are only guaranteed at the time they are quoted. Our suggestion is to always make your plans early to take advantage of the best possible rate we can offer.
Express Rental Car daily charges are on a 24 hour clock for rental cars. Example: If you rent the vehicle at 10:00 a.m. on a Monday and return at 10:00 a.m. the next day, which would be Tuesday, this would be considered a one day charge.
Express Rental Car daily charges for vans are on a by the day rental. Example: If you rent a vehicle at 10:00 a.m. on a Monday and return at 10:00 a.m. the next day, which would be a Tuesday, this would be condidered a two day rental.
Renters are given a 59-minute grace period to return. After such time the renter would be charged an hourly rate for each hour. All items charged by Triangle Rent A Car on a 24 hour basis include but are not limited to daily rates, collision damage waiver, supplemental liability coverage, personal accident coverage, underage renter fee, additional renter fee, etc.
No Show Policy Reservations are valid and honored for up to two hours after the requested pick up time. If the vehicle is not picked up within two hours of the requested pick up time your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW. We ask that you contact Triangle Rent A Car if you need to change the pick up time of your requested vehicle to avoid any problems.
Extensions of Rental When your contract is opened, we will ask you the expected return date and time. Once you leave our facility we ask that you contact us if the return date or time needs to be extended. Only the renter is allowed to extend an open contract.
If you choose to extend your rental, additional funds must be available on your credit card or debit card to cover the rental time requested. In the event funds are not available or a payment cannot be made a request for extension will be denied and the rental vehicle must be returned on the original return date and time. Cash renters must make an additional payment for deposit to extend.
Refueling Options Customer is to return the rented vehicle with the same amount of fuel that was in the tank when rented.
Contract Violations Contract violations include, but are not limited to:
1. Driving under the influence of intoxicants.
2. Operation of the vehicle by an unauthorized driver.
3. Taking the vehicle out of state or country without the permission of Triangle Rent A Car.
4. Off road use of the vehicle.
5. Failure to return rental vehicle by the due back date.
6. Failure to pay all charges listed on contract at time of return.
Additional Equipment for Rent Hitch $5.00 per day
Services for the Physically Challenged Visually Impaired: If you have a designated driver that is 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and you meet our pay method requirements the additional driver fee is waived.
Parking Tickets The renter is responsible for paying for any and all parking tickets received while the vehicle is on contract.
Please present the parking ticket at time of return to our customer service agent. We will be glad to add the parking charge onto your contract and will forward payment to the proper authorities.
If the parking ticket is not paid for at time of return Express Rental Car will forward all invoices for parking tickets to the customer for payment.
